June is well on its way...and so is the summer weather! We're excited to welcome y'all back for another vibrant Vallejo Art Walk next Friday, June 12th. This month we're hosting our dear friend and talented artist, Kris Goodie at the Tiny TBD Gallery and in Mr. Lee's Art Machine! We've loved the creativity and art that Kris has brought to the space from our last watercolor class in December to teaching us about watercolor pigments during April's Earth Daze. Kris is a Friday regular and their smile and energy always light up our days. They just had an incredible solo show featuring portraits at Autonomous Gallery, and we're excited to share another facet of their work over here at TBD.
Additionally, Kris will be leading us through a beginner-friendly Watercolor Workshop on Sunday, June 14th. This was such a fun class last year, so we're so glad to have them back and exploring more techniques, tricks and reasons to bring watercolor into our daily lives. Last month, we co-hosted a doubly-packed Mahjong Night with our favorites over at Alibi Bookshop! We had multiple tables going at both stores, and it was a fun night to hear the tiles mixing from Marin all the way around the corner to Virginia St. Thanks so much to everyone who joined us! To keep the luck and energy flowing (and while the rules of the game are still fresh in everyone's minds) we'll host Mahjong Night this month on Saturday, June 13th at 6:30pm-9:30pm. As always, we'll have a couple of tables where we will be teaching and a couple of tables for those who are well on their way to becoming strategy pros!
To slow things down mid-week, we're so grateful to host Shanese on Wednesday, June 17th for one last Soundscape and Tea Ceremony before the heat of summer finds us. This has been such a special offering that takes place upstairs, and I always love watching the light change during this hour under Micah's beautiful skylight. Space is limited, so please reserve a space on Shanese's website soon.
And last but not least, we're always happy to close out each month at the amazing Autonomous Gallery for Coffee & Collage on Sunday, June 21st. They have everything you need to create a beautiful collage, and Micah hooks us all up with the best coffee in town. If you haven't been yet, I would highly encourage you to join us this month. It's one suggested donation at the door, and the event is 11am-2pm, so you can come and go as it fits your schedule.
Amidst all the community events we host and attend together, this is just a little plug to remind y'all that we are a ceramics showroom! :) We are here for you or your gifting needs. Open every Friday from 10am-3pm and Saturday from 9am-3pm. And if you ever need a weekday gift, we're always available by appointment.
Thanks again for continuing to support artists, creative spaces, and humans like us!
-Kristin and Micah
