4-Week Kids Clay Class (JANUARY 2024)

TBDxLYM are excited to offer a KIDS CLAY CLASS! This four-week course, specifically for kids ages 6-12, is geared towards any kiddos looking to experience various aspects of clay making. 

We will start with hand-building projects and then they will take a spin at the wheel; allowing for them to choose what they want to work on for the final classes. Each class will be approximately two hours, which includes instruction, demonstration, and some important clean-up time; but the majority of the time spent will be supporting your little artists to do their thing! Whether you want your creative kids to try a new art form, improve on their experience with clay, or just have fun and enjoy the therapeutic aspects of playing with clay, this class is a great opportunity for them to learn and let their imaginations run free. We have rules about working with clay and how to work in a shared pottery studio together, but we also want this class to be a fun, creative experience!

One requirement for this class is that each participant must have previously joined us at an OPEN CLAY (either from an Artwalk Friday or our Saturday Open Clay). This ensures that they have the capacity to focus and learn during the 1.5-hour long class each week. The four-week course is $195 for one participant. If you have multiple kiddos who would like to participate, we'd like to offer $20 off each child when signing up two or more participants (so $175 for each kid for all four weeks).

As much as this class is about teaching our young artists about clay, we also have so much to learn from their young minds and experience as well! Since this is our first time trying out this hybrid kid class, we ask for your patience and kind feedback as you help us grow this class into something wonderful together.

Please note that this class takes place at our other art studio on Sonoma Blvd. 

• Requirement: All participants must have attended at least ONE OPEN CLAY session before registering for this course unless you have cleared that with our team.
• 4 seats are available.
• If there is a lot of interest, we will open up a second day of the week. 
• Classes will take place on TUESDAYS in January and one week in February from 4pm - 6pm. 
• Dates: January 16, 23, 30 and February 6
• The cost for one participant is $195 (1 day a week, 4 weeks for the course).
• The cost for two participants (signed up together) is $350.
