Salt.
The presence of salt in our lives can have different meanings to different people. Salt is an important element of Earth;
it can symbolize new beginnings and separation from the past; and also represents grounding and stability. For some, salt can represent purity, hospitality, and good luck, and when given as a gift, salt symbolizes longevity. For me, it is all about the FLAVOR of our lives and I will never live without it.
As a special workshop, we will be slowing our weekend down to take a moment to make salt dishes for your kitchen or you can gift them to someone special for their own dining room table. We will show you how to transform a simple pinch pot into a beautiful elevated dish and mold a tiny spoon to accompany this vessel.
The cost is $55 per seat to make a salt dish set (one dish and one spoon) and can take anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes, depending on how much you want to decorate.
All ages are welcome, as long as the kiddos can sit and focus with us for about an hour. Participants will have the opportunity to shape and decorate this set, and we will take care of the glazing and firing for you. Pieces will be available for pickup at the downtown showroom in about a week, and should be done before the end of the month holidays.
If you can't make it for this workshop but you'd like to organize a private party or group, please email us for details!
